Availability Windows
Take control of the portal experience with Availability Windows! Parking admins can now schedule exactly when Multi-Day Event options appear during registration — keeping things perfectly timed for parkers while reducing manual work behind the scenes.
Perfect for hockey season, conferences, or a concert series, parkers can now see the options that matter for that moment!
Why It Matters
Before Availability Windows, all multi-day event choices were visible as soon as they were created. This caused issues like:
- Parkers registering too early or too late
- Confusing QR scans showing every future event
- An overwhelming portal experience
To avoid giving parkers a cluttered experience, admins had to manually add parking options to an event once the registration window started.
With Availability Windows, set it and forget it! Parking admins can now control when each event or permit appears, keeping things simple and seamless for parkers.
How It Works
Each parking option can be configured to display only during its authorized start and end times. These settings control when parkers see (or stop seeing) the option in the portal.
After deciding the dates and times for your event, click on the 'Restrict registration availability?' toggle to show the availability window options:
- Only during authorized parking times: The option is visible only during its valid parking period.
- Custom times: The option automatically hides or disables itself based on your selected date range. Toggle “Available until parking expires” to make the option disappear when it’s no longer valid.
Once configured, Offstreet manages visibility automatically — no further manual updates required!
What could I use this for?
- Hockey Season Passes:
- A single event link for 20 games can now show just the game happening that day when the QR code is scanned.
- Early-Bird Pricing:
- Display an early-bird rate until a set date, after which a higher-priced option automatically becomes available.
- Registration Cut-Offs:
- Stop new registrations when an event begins or closes. This helps reduce enforcement issues and manual adjustments.
FAQs
- Can I control visibility per option?
Yes! Availability Windows operate at the option level, allowing independent schedules for each event or permit. - Do these work with QR codes?
Yes. The same link dynamically displays only current, active options — so parkers always see what’s relevant. - Will reporting still track registrations correctly?
Yes. Each option remains distinct in your reporting and CSV exports, so your data stays accurate.
