How to create a Tenant

Set up tenants to organize users, control access, and manage registrations or permits for specific groups.

Tenants allow you to segment your parkers into groups and apply rules, limits, and visibility settings. Whether you're managing employees, residents, or event attendees, tenants help keep everything organized and controlled.

How it works

  1. To create a tenant:
    • Go to the Dashboard
    • Select your Company Name dropdown
    • Navigate to Tenants
    • Click Create tenant
  2. From there, configure your tenant:
    • Tenant Name: Identify the group
    • Reference Codes: Add billing or reporting identifiers
    • Locations: Assign a Location
    • Contact: Link a primary contact
    • Permit Limit: Control how many permits can be issued
    • Show in Portal: Make the tenant visible during registration
    • Lookup Link: Generate a direct access URL
    • Security Group Template automatically creates permissions for users managing this tenant:
      • Registration templates allow users to create and view registrations
      • Permit templates allow users to create and view permits
    • Customize messaging shown to parkers:
      • Pre-registration instructions
      • Registration confirmation messaging
      • Expiring soon reminders
  3. Click Create to save your tenant.

What could I use this for?

Universities

  • Create tenant groups across faculties or parking lots
  • Apply different permit limits or access rules

Operators

  • Manage different clients or properties in the same location
  • Control access for monthly parkers vs. visitors

FAQs

Do I need to assign a security group template?
No, but it’s recommended. Templates automatically create the correct permissions, saving time and reducing setup errors.

What happens if I don’t enable “Show in Portal”?
The tenant will not be visible to parkers using a Location Lookup Link. This setting does not affect Tenant or Registration Lookup Links

Can I edit a tenant after creating it?
Yes, all tenant settings can be updated at any time.
